A domain authorisation code, sometimes called an auth code or EPP code, is used to start the transfer of many non-UK domain names, such as .com, .net or .org.

When Is It Needed?

If you are moving a domain name to another registrar, the new registrar may ask for an authorisation code before they can start the transfer.

How Long Does A Transfer Take?

Some domain transfers complete quickly, but others can take several days depending on the domain extension, registrar and transfer process.

Important

Transferring a domain name can affect website and email services. Make sure your new provider has planned the transfer carefully before changes are made.

What We Need From You

Please tell us the domain name you want to transfer and the registrar or provider it is moving to.
