An IPS tag is used by Nominet to identify the registrar responsible for a UK domain name, such as .co.uk, .org.uk or .uk.

When Is An IPS Tag Used?

If you are transferring a UK domain name to another provider, the new provider will usually give you their IPS tag. Where Easy Web Sites Ltd manages the domain name, we can update the IPS tag as part of the transfer process.

Important

Changing an IPS tag transfers control of the domain name to the new registrar. Website and email services may also be affected if DNS records are changed during or after the transfer.

What We Need From You

Please ask your new provider for the exact IPS tag and send it to us as part of your transfer instruction.
